Energy Security as a Security Challenge in Southeast Europe?, Alt Madlitz/Germany, October 15-18, 2013

DPC Senior Associate Bodo Weber participated at a high-level, Chatham House rules conference on energy security in Southeast Europe organized by the Aspen Institute Germany on October 15-18, 2013. The conference assembled policy makers and energy experts from the Western Balkan region, the EU, the US, Russia and Turkey.

The conference assembled policy makers and energy experts from the Western Balkan region, the EU, the US, Russia and Turkey. Conference discussions centered on a number of key questions: How can security of supply be ensured in Southeast Europe? Is there a risk of politicization of energy supply issues in the region? What role does the region play in the larger geopolitical context? The conference took place in Alt Madlitz outside of Berlin.
